Beechworth shines at the National 2018 Tidy Towns Awards

Congratulations to Beechworth – the Victorian finalist for the Keep Australia Beautiful 2018 Tidy Towns Awards, which were held in Barmera, South Australia on 6 April 2018.
Beechworth was the joint winner of the Environmental Education Award, as well as Beechworth’s Wooragee Primary School jointly taking out the Young Legends Award.
Additionally, the town was highly commended in Heritage & Culture and Dame Phyllis Frost Litter Prevention, Waste Management + Resource Recovery.
Australian Tidy Towns judge Gail Langley said, “Beechworth exerts a passion for health and produce – evident in their everyday living and longer-term goals. Attention to detail with preservation of their history is insightful. Collaboration is evident with group numbers working on projects to enhance productivity.”
